1. Schedule a Parent Visit
We invite you to come to our school for an informational meeting with the director and lead teacher, Siobhan. This is an opportunity for you to tour the classroom, learn about the Sandpiper Montessori program and philosophy and determine if we are a good match for your family. In order to ensure that we can give you our full attention without frustrating or boring your child, we recommend that children not attend this meeting. Please be advised that all tours are by appointment only.
2. Submit an Application
During the Parent Visit, we will provide an application form. This form must be completed in order to move forward with the admissions process. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due with the application. We are only able to refund your deposit if there is not enough space available in the program, the fee will be returned to you.
3. Schedule a Child Visit
Once the application has been completed, we will schedule a visit with your child at school. During the Child Visit we will play with some toys together and do a very informal observational assessment to determine readiness.
4. Admissions Decision and Enrollment Contracts
Admissions decisions are based on a variety of factors including the following:
- Age and signs of school readiness, i.e.. language development, strides in independence, curiousity, separation ready. Children do not need to be potty trained, however potty training will occur during the year at school.
- Date of application, ie. applications are processed on a first come first serve basis.
The enrollment contract and deposit will be required to hold a space for your child.
